Watch Chest Limited Warranty Policy
At Watch Chest, we are committed to the quality and reliability of our timepieces and services. Our comprehensive limited warranty policy includes:
2-Year Limited Warranty
We offer a 2-year limited warranty on specified and participating watches, covering mechanical malfunctions. This warranty applies to watches serviced by Watch Chest and modern watches that do not require service. Please refer to the "Exclusions" section for items not covered under this warranty. For qualified issues, we provide free insured shipping within the U.S. For international customers, local service is recommended, and we will reimburse the service cost up to our equivalent rate, subject to prior approval and proper documentation.
Manufacturer Warranty Consideration
If a watch is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty at the time of purchase, that warranty takes precedence. However, Watch Chest will extend coverage to ensure the watch is covered for a maximum of two (2) years from the purchase date. This means:
- If the manufacturer's warranty expires before the end of the two-year period, our warranty will take over to ensure continuous coverage up to two (2) years from the purchase date.
- If the manufacturer's warranty has more than two years remaining, our warranty will not apply.
- If the manufacturer rejects servicing for any reason within the two-year period, our warranty will step in to cover the necessary repairs.
All exclusions detailed in our 2-Year Limited Warranty still apply.
1-Year Limited Service Warranty
Watches serviced through Watch Chest's service center are covered by a 1-year limited warranty for mechanical issues related to the serviced components. Please refer to the "Exclusions" section for items not covered under this warranty. For qualified issues, we provide free insured shipping within the U.S. For international customers, local service is recommended, and we will reimburse the service cost up to our equivalent rate, subject to prior approval and proper documentation.
6-Month Limited Warranty
We offer a 6-month limited warranty on specified and participating watches, covering mechanical malfunctions. This warranty applies to watches that have not been serviced by Watch Chest but have been thoroughly inspected and deemed to be in good working condition. Please refer to the "Exclusions" section for items not covered under this warranty. For qualified issues, we provide free insured shipping within the U.S. For international customers, local service is recommended, and we will reimburse the service cost up to our equivalent rate, subject to prior approval and proper documentation.
Exclusions
Our limited warranties do not cover:
- Any specific condition notes or issues communicated at the time of purchase
- Loss, theft, normal wear and tear, tampering, improper treatment, or any damage resulting from accidents or exposure to adverse conditions
- Unauthorized modifications, including those performed by the customer or third parties, as well as repairs performed by third parties who are not the original manufacturer during the warranty period
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of time, or loss of profits
Although we thoroughly inspect and test for water resistance, timekeeping accuracy, and other factors, this warranty excludes damage caused by water or moisture. Most mechanical and quartz watches are not perfectly accurate, and our warranties do not cover watches that run slow or fast. Additionally, most mechanical watches experience a gradual decrease in power reserve capacity over time, which is not covered under our warranties. Watches used under conditions that exceed the manufacturer's guidelines will also void our warranties.
Vintage Watches
Due to the unique nature and age of vintage watches, they are sold "as is" and are not covered by our standard warranty policies. We recommend vintage watch purchases for experienced collectors and enthusiasts who understand the characteristics and potential quirks of older timepieces. While we do not offer a warranty, we ensure that each vintage watch is thoroughly inspected for authenticity and basic functionality before sale. Any specific condition notes or issues will be communicated at the time of purchase. These watches will be marked at the time of purchase with a label such as “Vintage - Warranty Exempt (see details)” to clearly indicate their warranty status.

These limited warranties provide specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights under applicable law. We disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
